Koa’s Kind was born from a simple idea: dogs deserve better. After struggling to find healthy, truly natural treats for our pal Koa, we decided to make our own—using only real, recognizable ingredients with no shortcuts.
What started in our home kitchen quickly grew into a small-batch business built on love, transparency, and tail-wagging results. Every treat is crafted by hand, baked with care, and tested by Koa himself (our Chief Treat Officer).

Meet the Maker (founder)
Hi, I’m Scott—founder of Koa’s Kind, lifelong dog lover, and proud Morro Bay local.
Born on Oahu before moving to Morro Bay at age 11, I had been coming to visit my Grandparents in Morro Bay since birth, and living in both of these beautiful, welcoming and naturally wonderful places has shaped my view of the world and what I’d like to see more of in it: more kindness, please. I’ve always felt most at home outdoors—whether it’s kayaking the bay, soaking up the sunshine and taking photos, or just walking my pup Koa around Morro Bay. Speaking of Koa, he’s my adventure buddy, and the reason this whole journey started.
Like a lot of pet owners, I wanted the very best for him—but I was shocked by how many dog treats were packed with mystery ingredients and artificial junk. So I started baking my own. What began as a passion project in my kitchen quickly turned into a mission: to make healthy, homemade treats that other dogs (and their humans) could trust.
Koa’s Kind is my way of sharing that love and care with your dog, too—one clean, crunchy bite at a time.
